A stunning pair of gold gilt mirror image cloisonné hat stands. Often used as vases, the front of each hat stand features a vase of flowers with a peaceful scene of a man in a boat viewing the horizon. The sides and back have assorted images of Chinese scholar article and Buddhist symbols. Decorative trim work along the top rim and bottom rims, are a nice finishing touch to the enameled background which is a dark rust color with thin gold colored cloisens creating the shape of tiny clouds. In excellent condition and each vase measures just under 12" high and about 5" across. These are fairly heavy weighing 3.5 lbs each and are gold gilt over copper. |
