Chinese Green Glaze Han Dynasty Earthenware Deep Dish stock #L8J2hanDish
$1,650
Museum quality ancient Han dynasty, 206 BC – 220 AD, lead green deep dish from Luoyang, Henan Province. Excellent patina with the original silvering left intact on the rim of the dish. The 3rd photo shows a spur mark left by one of the clay firing stilts used to prop the dish to prevent it from sticking to the kiln floor. We have not seen another advertised for sale anywhere, other than the common cold painted types. There is an identical one on display at the Sackler Freer exhibit in the Smithsonian, Washington D.C. This artifact is priced for its rarity and beauty, a true once in a lifetime opportunity to own a pristine example from the ancient Han dynasty in China. It measures 7.75" diameter x 1 3/4" high. |
