A lovely Japanese painting on paper of two men observing the moon. This scroll was sold on consignment by a Japanese dealer named Sakura. According to Sakura and in his opinion, this painting would date from 1800-1849, and is in fair to good condition. All genuine antique scrolls will show signs of wear and discoloration and in some cases damp staining. The painting appears to be salvaged and remounted at least 20 years ago. An old Japanese saki storage bottle in good condition except for some manufacturing flaws which only add to its character and charm. They include firing cracks on the rim, a spot where it touched another bottle in the kiln, and some loss at the base which may have also happened during firing. Vintage black silk woman's short jacket with playful shi-shi lions woven with gold and red lacquered threads. Though a formal jacket, this haori also looks great worn casually with a pair of slacks or jeans. In excellent condition, it dates late Showa.
Stunning Japanese black satin silk obi with a woven pattern featuring shi-shi lions. In very good condition, the back side is solid black. Measures 12" wide by 129" long. Dates Showa Period.
Very rare tomesode with blue birds. A light to medium weight crepe silk decorated with yuzen dyeing techique and small touches of silk embroidery. On the front panels each bird’s head and throat is embroidered using satin stitch method. Some of the leaves are accented with fine gold threads at their edges and a small grouping of flowers are decorated with very small French knots.
The back is plain, except for three white mon (family crests). The painted design is repeated in the lining...
Framed Japanese woodblock theater triptych, circa 1860. In good condition, it has not been examined out of frame, but the prints appear to be loosely attached. The 3 prints measure as seen, site size: 27.75 x 13.5 site, Frame measures: 32.5" x 18.25" . Please note this is shot through glass and there are some reflections, the prints do NOT have white spots or white streaks.

Original Japanese kabuki actor color woodblock print by artist Toyohara Kunichika, 1835 – 1900. Beautifully framed and matted measuring 17" x 22", the print site size is 9.75" x 13.5". Any streaking is reflection from the glass. Print does not appear to have any condition issues.

An exquisite Japanese silk haori with a wintery skiing scene featuring tickets from Tokyo to Akaura and from Kyoto to Ibuki. Made of habutae silk a with woven lining, it can be worn or displayed with either side facing outward. The outside is solid black with 5 mons (family crests). The inside back panel’s weaving includes the use of varying shades of taupe, bronze, gold, black, and silvery gray silk metallic lacquered threads...

Ink on silk painting of Kanu Tannyu's "Portrait of Shoki". Riding a shi-shi lion, Shoki was know as the Demon Slayer. Shoki was the spirit of the physician Shôki who was, according to Japanese folklore, able to scare away demons and ward off evil spirits. Signed "Hoin", this is an extremely well rendered painting exhibiting fine detailing that was achieved by using a single hair. In excellent condition, the painting measures 16" long by 8.5" high...
