Extremely rare and hard to find, is this truly exceptional Chinese cloisonne pitcher, enriched by geometrical designs and embodied with colorful flowers. The top and bottom borders are done in a royal blue cobalt contrasted by a turquoise backdrop entwined with golden wire. A large and very rare Chinese wedding purse, this unique purse displays colorful Peking forbidden stitch done in patterns displaying various treasures. The inside is of a subtle lavender, while the outside is creme colored with slightly raise geometric designs. This clearly dates it to the early 20's. A colorful profusion of precious objects and coins adorn this beautiful cloisonne box against a black background, the lid has a finial in the form of a foo dog making this a truly unique treasure. Broken shards of these crab plates have been found on the Island in Cebu in the Philippines, and are determined to be of the Zhangzhou type (formerly called Swatow wares). This lovely crab dish is from the Spanish porcelain trade that was exported from China to South East Asia. I am not absolutely certain of its exact age, but can guarantee that it is at least 150 years old. Measuring 6.75" in diameter, it is in perfect antique condition, no chips, hairlines or repair.
